Not enough hours in the day

I'm so frustrated that I never seem to have enough time in the day to get a good work out. The hubby is in Chicago due to a family emergency so I'm stuck getting up at 5 and spending time/feeding/walking our three dogs. So no AM run. Tonight is my hubby's birthday and will be home so no PM run unless I go at 10 pm. Not something I'm thrilled about but I'll do what I have to so I can train. I'm usually up at the crack of dawn at the gym each day but that requires a 5:00 am wake-up call. Not exactly something I like to do. I'm tired, groggy, lazy, and just not very into it at that moment. But my afternoons just don't allow for me to work out (3 dogs, married, plus the 30-45 minute commute doesn't help). My afternoon runs are usually my best - I fuel it with my stress or happiness depending on the day. At the moment, I'm only allowing myself 3 days of running until my knee allows me to sneak in a fourth (easy) running day. I guess this is part of my problem. If I have a bad run on one of my precious 3 days, then I'm only left with 2 more days. In essence all the time I get to spend running is considered good, but there are the times where you just aren't feeling it. Whether it was a stressful day, something unexpected requires your attention (i.e. dog eats a highlighter - true story), or just in a rut, there seems to always be a struggle between time and the ability to run.
